Repmanager and Birdeye are both built to manage reviews across more than one location. But they are built at different scales and for different teams. Repmanager is a review and reputation specialist, built for businesses with multiple locations. Birdeye is a much larger reputation and customer experience platform, built to scale from a small local business up to an enterprise running 1,000-plus locations, with reviews as one piece of a much bigger system.

This comparison covers what each platform does, what each costs, how the features compare, what users say and which type of business each one fits. So you can decide on the full picture.

How Repmanager and Birdeye approach the problem differently

Repmanager does one job: managing reviews and reputation across every location an organisation runs. A fitness chain, a hospitality group, a retail formula or a dealer group. It does not try to be a communication suite, a CRM or a customer experience platform. Its AI is trained only on writing review replies in each location's tone.

Birdeye takes the opposite approach. Its AI is organised into named "Coworkers", all running on what Birdeye calls its "BirdAI" system. Jay, the marketing Coworker, handles review generation, review replies and listings optimisation. Myna covers front office tasks such as appointments and reminders. Robin handles surveys, ticketing and reporting. Review management sits inside Jay's marketing remit rather than being the platform's single purpose. For a large enterprise that wants reviews, listings, webchat and CX tools under one roof, that is useful. It also means review replies are one task among many for the AI behind them.

Feature comparison: Repmanager vs Birdeye

AI review replies

Repmanager's AI is configured per location, so a reply from one location does not read like a copy of another. Replies can be posted automatically based on sentiment or star rating. A glowing 5-star review and a frustrated 1-star review are not treated the same by default. On the Pro plan, Rep Shield checks every incoming review before the AI posts anything. Spam, sensitive topics and urgent complaints go to a human.

Birdeye's review replies come from Jay, the marketing Coworker, which also handles review generation and listings optimisation. Jay can summarise the sentiment across hundreds of reviews in one click and flag spam or fake reviews automatically. At scale that is useful. But it is one function of a multi-purpose marketing AI, not a tool tuned specifically to get the review reply right.

Multi-location dashboard

Both platforms give you a view across every location, but at different scales. Repmanager's dashboard is built for organisations with several locations. You compare locations side by side, set KPI targets for rating, response rate and response time, and give team members role-based access to the right locations. A dealer group with a separate Google profile per brand sees all those profiles in one overview, just like a retail chain with thirty stores.

Birdeye's dashboard is built to scale to 1,000-plus locations, with tagging, assignment and ticket management for larger teams. Automotive is one of Birdeye's established verticals, with groups such as O'Brien Auto Group and Gerry Wood Auto Group among its case studies. But it is one vertical inside a much broader enterprise client base, not a core focus.

Review platform coverage, including the Netherlands and Belgium

Birdeye aggregates reviews from 200-plus sites. That is broad coverage and it matters for businesses reviewed across many different platforms. Repmanager covers fewer platforms: Google, Klanten Vertellen and Kiyoh. That list is deliberately built around what Dutch and Belgian customers actually use. Birdeye's interface is available in Dutch, but we found no Klanten Vertellen or Kiyoh integration on its site or in its review listings. A real gap if your locations serve customers in the Netherlands or Belgium and you want those review sources handled in one place.

Beyond reviews: listings, webchat and CX tools

Birdeye adds listings management (keeping business details consistent across directories), a webchat and chatbot widget for capturing leads, and real-time review alerts on desktop and mobile, on top of its Coworkers system. Repmanager does not offer these. Deliberately. It sticks to reviews and reputation, plus review invitations by email or QR code to get more reviews in the first place. Tools you would have to set up and maintain but might never use stay out.

How you find outListed on the pricing page, with an annual discountOnly after a sales call

Repmanager's plans are on the site and can be checked before you talk to anyone. Paying annually gives you two months free. A connection is a Google Business Profile, so a location with two profiles counts as two connections. Birdeye does not publish its own numbers. The figures above are third-party estimates, not prices Birdeye states itself. Users consistently report that the real cost includes add-ons on top of the quoted base.

Onboarding and ease of use

Getting started with Repmanager takes minutes: sign up, connect your locations, and the AI starts replying in each location's tone right away. No sales call and no implementation project between signup and your first automated reply. Pro customers get personal onboarding if they want it.

Birdeye users rate the platform highly for day-to-day use. But getting there takes time. Users describe a steep learning curve and a clunky mobile app. One agency reported roughly 200 hours to get fully set up. That is one team's experience, not a fixed timeline, but it says something about how much setup a platform this size can involve. Support after the sale is a recurring complaint too, described by users as noticeably slower once onboarding wraps up.

Who fits which platform

Repmanager fits best if:

  • You run multiple locations and want review replies written by AI built specifically for that job
  • You want to see the price before you commit, with no sales call, and a discount for paying annually
  • You serve customers in the Netherlands or Belgium and want Klanten Vertellen and Kiyoh connected natively
  • You would rather not pay for tools (calls, listings, webchat) you do not need
  • You want replies that adjust automatically to sentiment or star rating, backed by a safety net for spam and risky reviews

Birdeye fits best if:

  • You are a large or fast-scaling enterprise that wants reviews, listings, webchat and broader CX tools under one roof
  • You have the internal capacity for a longer onboarding and a custom-quoted, typically annual contract
  • Your locations are mainly in the United States and Dutch or Belgian review platforms play no role
  • You need to aggregate reviews from a very wide range of platforms, with ticketing and assignment for a large review team

The verdict

If reviews and reputation across multiple locations are what you need to manage, Repmanager gives you a tool built precisely for that. With pricing you know upfront, AI trained on review replies rather than spread across marketing and operations tasks, and native support for the Dutch review platforms your customers use. Birdeye earns its strong ratings and makes sense at real enterprise scale, but that scale comes with a longer onboarding and a price you only see after a sales call.

Frequently asked questions

Does Repmanager work for businesses with more than one location?

Yes, that is exactly what it is built for. Every location gets its own AI tone and its own line in the dashboard, whether you manage 3 or 70 locations. Above that there is a custom Enterprise plan.

What does Repmanager cost compared to a platform like Birdeye?

Repmanager is free for 1 connection with 25 AI replies per month, 39 euros per month (32 euros billed annually) for 5 connections with unlimited replies, and 149 euros per month (124 euros billed annually) for Pro with 5 connections included and expandable. Everything is listed upfront. Birdeye does not publish pricing; quotes are built per account after a sales call.

Does Repmanager support Dutch review platforms like Klanten Vertellen and Kiyoh?

Yes. Both flow into the same dashboard as Google reviews, with AI replies in the same tone as the rest of a location's responses. For Birdeye we found no confirmed support for either.
